The Hornbill Festival, named after the Great Indian Hornbill, the state bird of Nagaland is a cultural fete that has launched the state of Nagaland to international fame. It is a binge of 10 days on lip-smacking, sinful gastronomy, music across all genres, dance performances, folk art, and colourful attires among others.

In this trip you will also visit the historic district of Mokokchung – the land of the Ao Nagas – the place where the American Baptist missionaries first came into contact with the savage Nagas. Nestled on top of the hills amidst lush greenery and a soothing climate, Mokokchung is the ultimate gateway as the virgin area depicts the rich tradition of the Ao Nagas and the early advents of the Baptist missionaries in all its splendour.

The tour will be conducted by Aiyushman Dutta, Northeast writer, cultural activist and culture expert (aiyushmandutta.wordpress.com)
